China is a leader in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) with 5,000 chambers and in HBOT research. For nearly 50 years, China has used HBOT as a “primary or adjuvant therapy” to treat a number of diseases.
According to an online article published by the U.S. National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM), “HBOT use in China began in the 1960s and developed rapidly after political reform and opening-up.” As a result, HBOT has been a standardized level of care in China.
